Fillers / Fat Grafting
Good textured skin with an even distribution of fat is the secret of youthfulness. Over the time, skin begins to wrinkle and sag with volume loss, leaving folds and grooves over the face like under eye grooves, nasolabial folds, folds around lips and jaws. These folds can be minimised with the use of fillers that too non-surgically, giving you much younger looks.
Purpose:
- To correct under eye grooves, nasolabial folds (laugh lines), folds around lips
- Lip augmentation
- To improve skin texture leading to skin tightening
- To enhance soft tissue volume, recontour the face
Types of fillers:
Natural fillers: The most commonly used natural filler is fat. Fat grafting is a wonderful tool to treat prominent wrinkles and facial folds giving you much younger look, quite frequently avoiding the need of face lift. Fat is said to be a rich source of stem cells and sustained effect of these cells helps in new vessel formation and elastic fibre development (akin to stem cell therapy/mesotherapy), thus leading to skin tightening.
As the fat belongs to your own body, it is absolutely safe and gives satisfying results.
Other Natural fillers are- Derma fat, dermis, fascia and muscle.
Synthetic fillers: Juvederm / Restylane / Perlane etc. primarily contain hyaluronic acid which is a component of skin. Usually, these fillers are temporary and need repeat procedures.
Procedure: Fat is harvested using fine cannula. Harvested fat is processed and is injected using a very fine needle in the target area either in a crisscross fashion or in a fan-shaped manner. The procedure is scarless. Fat grafting along with chemical peeling and laser skin rejuvenation is a unique component of fairness program being carried out at Olmec and leads to fair, glowing face and body.
Synthetic filler available in the pre-filled syringe is injected using a very fine needle at specific points. It is an office based procedure.
Duration of Procedure: Few minutes to 1 hr.
Anaesthesia: Local or no anaesthesia
Recovery Time: Immediate to 10 days depending on type of filler used and area treated
