Non-surgical skin treatments include several different approaches, such as fillers, chemical peels and laser hair reduction. Fat grafting is a separate procedure that involves harvesting tissue. Each option has its own indications and risks; they should not be presented as interchangeable or risk-free.

What to know

How it is performed

Fillers add selected volume, peels treat selected skin layers and laser hair reduction targets suitable hair follicles. Fat grafting transfers prepared fat from a donor area. The treatment and any course of sessions are selected after assessment.

Who may consider a consultation?

People with a defined skin, volume or hair concern can discuss the appropriate options. Skin type, medicines, previous treatments and medical history affect suitability.

Recovery & follow-up

Some treatments involve little downtime, while others cause swelling, redness or peeling. Follow the treatment-specific skin-care and sun-protection plan. Maintenance or repeat sessions may be needed.

Risks & considerations

Discuss irritation, burns, pigmentation changes, infection and scarring where relevant. Fillers and fat injections also carry vascular and other technique-specific risks.

Questions to bring to your consultation

Ask which treatment suits your concern, your skin type and medical history. Discuss expected changes, treatment sessions, downtime and the risks specific to each option.
